Back In a Couple of Weeks

Your mothership crew is going to be busy with family in the next couple of weeks, making sure that we get to see everyone before heading into wild and remote Southeast Alaska. 

We'll post again as we begin preparations to leave the dock.  In the meantime, check out the photo albums of highlights from prior years, or pick any one of the summer months from the archives to read posts from the voyage of 2006.

Bunk Room No More

Live and learn.  We have had zero call for bunk beds, so the bunk beds are being torn out as we speak.  After the bunk room is remodeled, it will have a more spacious bed and more elbow room.

We'll post photos when it is complete.

This means that spring is near.  And after spring ... summer in Southeast Alaska!

Kayaker Photographers

There is no better way to photograph wildlife than on a mothership kayaking trip.  Your quiet and unobtrusive presence in a kayak will allow you to see what no one in a motor vessel will see, so bring a small camera no matter what.  You can bring more elaborate photography equipment with you on the trip, even if you don't want to carry all of it in a kayak all day.  Mornings and evenings, when the mothership is anchored in a protected bay, are perfect times to get some great shots.  Especially of bears.
