Rocky Pass
What a week. Black bears, birds, rain, sun, kayaking and hiking. Thanks to Pam, Jonathan and Karen for the photos, which I will post over the next week or so.
Petersburg
We got to Petersburg on Wednesday and are getting ready for our first kayakers this weekend. Late yesterday afternoon the weather turned cloudless and sunny, and gave us our first glimpse of devil's thumb. If we are lucky, and the clear weather holds, we will see it and its surrounding mountains in all of their glory as soon as we get out of the marina.
Ketchikan!
We arrived in Alaska yesterday, and are happy to have begun our 2007 Alaska kayaking adventure.
We saw a couple of orcas on the way up. Let's hope that bodes well for a summer of wildlife sightings!
