Day One in Pelican

Our last group did a one way trip.  They flew into Pellican and out of Juneau.  The day of the flight into Pelican was as beautiful as it could be - perfect for sightseeing from above.

We've been out of touch awhile! We had no access to internet on the Pelican to Auke Bay trip, so we'll work on our photos and update this blog while we are here in Auke Bay (Juneau).  It was a great week - you'll see.

Poor internet connections notwithstanding, life is good.  We have been blessed with good weather, great wildlife and plenty to eat from the sea. 

Our next trip begins in Pelican, and we'll spend the next week getting there.  If the connection is good enough in Pelican, we'll try to catch up when we get there.  See you soon!

Brown Bear

Baranof Island is home to the brown bear (aka grizzly).

Black Bear

Kuiu Island is home to black bear.  May is still hunting season, so the bears were skittish.

New Dock

We built a new dock and it is working out very well.
