Giant Pacific Octopus

OK...here it is. She caught it. We each shook hands with it. FYI, it sucks on to you with its little suction cups. Very fun. We released it unharmed and uneaten (to the surprise of many of our friends). Way too cool to eat. Lots More Adventures

We have many more pictures to post and stories to tell but we are off this morning and will lose our internet connection.  We can't wait to post pictures from the last group including the Giant Pacific Octopus they caught (and released).

Hiking with George

 
George will go anywhere with anyone (his loyalties are flexible) but he loves hiking with his momma best!

Fishing

We usually put down a herring with the expectation of catching something larger.  This time we caught sand fleas.  Do you think we caught our limit?

Port Protection

Another interesting SE Alaskan village.  Very nice folks we met there.  One young man gave us a short tour of Port Pro and Point Baker, the neighboring community, in his skiff.  The school newspaper was wonderful and interesting reading.

Off Again

We are off on a new adventure, this time from Sitka to Petersburg. We have a tech support request in on the photo issue. When it is resolved (and when we get to P'burg and an internet connection) we'll catch up on photos.

Wrangell to Warren and Coronation Islands

We needed good weather for this trip, and we got it. Sunny, skies, smooth seas and adventurous spirits. The beaches were gorgeous, including one on the way that was full of mysterious stone pillars. We had so much fun kayaking and beachcombing and hiking. We are in Sitka now and, for some reason, are unable to upload photos. As soon as we can do so, we will. Our next adventure starts this weekend. Sitka to Petersburg - stay tuned!
