A highlight of our 2012 pre-season trip was stumbling across a big brown bear who was making several meals out of a black bear cub. Gory! We inadvertantly paddled by but upon discovery immediately moved some distance away. Thank goodness for a large camera lense in the group. The big brown bear was so full he seemed to care less. We know better when a predator is guarding its kill. In the second photo he dug his kill in deeper and went back to napping in the sun.
